Daniel Tudela likes his gadgets.
Others do not.
When Mr. Tudela walked into a mall in Georgia to go to the movies, he was wired up with electronic toys that operated his cellphone and MP3 player.
It was September 13th, two days after the anniversary of the terrorist attack of 9/11, and less than two months after the Aurora, Colorado movie theater shooting.
When they saw him, mall employees called 911.
Police responded and realized he was not a threat.
Yet a few weeks later, they charged him with a misdemeanor for having a hoax device.
Gwinnett County police officer Corporal Ed Ritter explained:
"One would put together, and reasonably assume, that he is here to commit some type of heinous crime, deadly crime… In the day of age that we’re in today, with terrorist activity, and dressing like one, one would assume that you are one."
