A sheriff’s department in Lee County, Alabama wanted to arrest parents with outstanding warrants who were more than $10,000 behind in paying child support for their kids.
Instead of going to them, they decided to bring the suspects to the police with a sting operation.
The police sent letters telling suspects they’d won two free tickets to the Iron Bowl, a popular local football game. But when a dozen suspects arrived, they were arrested.
