Our taste is deceived by the color of food. Taste tests show vanilla pudding tastes like banana or lemon if it’s artificially colored yellow. And we don’t easily perceive flavor if mango or lemon flavoring is added but the pudding looks white.
Of course, some believe that much of the food that needs to be colored is considered fake or unhealthy.
But others like the artificial look, because it also makes the food look fun.
Despite the packaging, Popsicle’s first attempt
at marketing colorless popsicles turned
out to be less than successful.
