Abraham Lincoln, 1858
"You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
Abraham Lincoln is reported to have said this in an 1858 speech in Clinton, Illinois. Except we may have been fooled. Although for years this quote has been attributed to Lincoln, there’s no evidence Lincoln actually said it.
