An engineer was angry that the European Union, to improve energy efficiency, banned incandescent light bulbs that were over 60 watts. So Siegfried Rotthaeuser and his brother-in-law looked into the regulations and realized that 75 and 100 watt light bulbs, with 95% of their output being heat and only 5% being light, could legally be sold – if they were sold as heaters.
They call them heatballs.
