Lee Dickinson, nineteen years old, was with his girlfriend’s family on a holiday at Haggerston Castle in England when he stepped onto a smooth lawn which looked like a golf course green. When he instantly plunged up to his neck in smelly water, he realized the smooth lawn was actually a huge sheet of algae covering the surface of a lake.
The site manager said "This is the first incident we are aware of a teenager mistaking algae floating on the lake for Astroturf."
