We've all been annoyed by "slack fill." (What is it?)

It’s not the biggest problem in our lives. In fact, it’s so common, we’ve kinda gotten used to it. But like many things that just shouldn’t be, this practice creeps along, and gets worse and worse.

"The food industry calls it "slack fill." But the Center for Science in the Public Interest calls it a form of deceptionand an environmental nightmare to boot. The nonprofit nutrition and food safety watchdog group is urging the Food and Drug Administration and state attorneys general to crack down on illegal slack fill in food packages."
