Next, they’re going to counterfeit this 20 dollar bill.
I’m going to quote the entire original news item from the Michigan paper the Lansing State Journal, since there’s really no way I can improve on it. Especially the last sentence:
Police are looking for three men suspected of using counterfeit bills at yard sales Saturday, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office said.
The men used counterfeit $20 bills at three yard sales in Holt and two in Mason between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Matthew Flint said.
They paid for small items with the $20 bills and received change, exchanging the counterfeit bills for real money, he said.
Police have made no arrests, Flint said. Police are looking for a white male in his early 20s who is bald and has numerous facial piercings, another white male in his early 20s who is 5 feet 8 inches tall with facial piercings and acne and a black male in his early 20s who is 6 feet 2 inches tall and has pierced ears.
Anyone who has seen the suspects or believes they have been victimized should call 694-0045.
Police are encouraging anyone hosting an upcoming yard sale to visit www.secretservice.gov for information about how to identify a counterfeit bill.
