Usually, people try to sneak OUT of jail

Maybe Matthew Matagrano just likes jail.

A 36-year old man named Matthew Matagrano has been charged for sneaking into New York City's Rikers Island Jail.

He impersonated a Department of Correction employee using an official radio, ID-card and shield.

He was caught inside the jail doing something that tipped off the guards.

Officials are unclear on why - or for how long - he's been doing this.

He's been in and out of jail for various offenses on many occasions since the mid 1990s.
