A man with 6 arms, and a skull made of 7 nudes

The artist Jean Cocteau in a photo
taken by Philippe Halsman, 1948

Jean Cocteau was a poet and filmmaker and artist and playwright and novelist and actor who pushed against the boundaries of art and convention. In the above photo, is he wearing his jacket backwards to make it easier for his 6 arms to appear?

Philippe Halsman was a well-known photographer who took photographs for the cover of Life magazine. He was no stranger to the surreal. Three years after he created the above image, he collaborated with the painter Salvador Dalí and created the famous photograph below, which required 7 nude women.
