The illusions of the guru Kumaré

Kumaré represents "a fine line
between prankster and truthseeker."

Filmmaker Vikram Gandhi created a guru character named Kumaré, then traveled to Arizona to share his message with others. However, the movie he made was different from others that make fun of people. Said Gandhi:
We're not going after anybody. We can't go after anyone looking for spiritual answers. We wanted it not to be about people looking ridiculous. We wanted this to be about something more real.
Ultimately the whole process was about asking a question: "Could people find the same peace from a made-up religion that they find in a real one?"
