Deceptive skin cream doesn't melt away your fat

But it has Bio-Slim Complex!

Beiersdorf, the company that makes "My Silhouette!" Nivea skin cream, was fined $900,000 by the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) for claiming the cream can reduce a customer's body size.

One TV ad said:
“New Nivea My Silhouette! with Bio-Slim Complex helps redefine the appearance of your silhouette and noticeably firm skin in just four weeks.  So you can rediscover your favorite jeans.  And how they still get his attention.  New Nivea My Silhouette! with Bio-Slim Complex.  Touch and be touched.”
And for claiming that users could expect "reduction of up to three centimetres on targeted body parts, such as thighs, hips, waist and stomach," Canadian regulators fined them over U.S. $400,000, forced them to pull the product off shelves and give refunds to customers.

Regulators said there is no scientific evidence the cream works.

Take a look and judge for yourself. Do you think their ad implies that swabbing on a cream lowers your pant size?
