For sale - used car, great condition, no accidents.
An auto dealer in Grand Junction Colorado cheated customers who bought used cars. He was buying wrecked vehicles, repairing them and then reselling them as if they had never had any problems. He even pretended to offer full factory warranties.
Camden Fortney ran the scheme for three years, fraudulently selling 52 vehicles.
Mr. Fortney was caught and indicted for 40 counts, including felony theft, commercial bribery, and conspiracy to commit commercial bribery.
The 68-year-old man must pay $500,000 in restitution. He was also sentenced to more than 50 years in prison.
