He submitted 117 fake tax returns to the IRS, using information from other prisoners. The refund checks were electronically deposited into Mr. Fears’ accounts. After his scheme was uncovered, authorities discovered that Mr. Fears had stolen $119,000. He pleaded guilty to fraud and received four more years in prison.
