The Sorcerer's Apprentice from Alfred Hitchcock Presents, 1962, was written by Robert Bloch, who wrote Psycho. This episode was only broadcast after the series became syndicated because Revlon, the original sponsor, thought it "too gruesome." It's tame for today, but like many of Hitchcock's tales, it has a strong moral message: deception can kill.
